FUDD HAS LAUNCHED!

Finally I can announce that the project I have been working on FOREVER is up and running and ready for you to interact with! FUDD HAS LAUNCHED!!! The creative director Nick and I met late last year and have been working on this magazine/blog/blogazine/magalog ever since. We went live yesterday and are crossing our fingers that you all love what we have created… So why waste any time? GET OVER THERE!! you can view all its online magaziney goodness right HERE.

SMOKE SIGNALS

I have been waiting sooooooo long to post these behind the scenes photos from a shoot I was involved in a few months ago. We set off some marine flares, and forced our poor model Bec to stand in a giant plume of orange smoke! It was great watching the All of the Above ladies work, Make up artist Bec, Stylist Emma and Photographer Libby make the best team! We finished the day with the most amazing cupcakes that I STILL can’t get out of my head!

I’ve been getting really into photography lately, so It was great to have a chance to take some BTS photos at an actual shoot. The final photographs by Libby Edwards have been published in Canada’s String Magazine which can be viewed online HERE.

KIMBRA

A girl friend and I took a break from mad studying last night to see Kimbra live at her final show of the Australian tour. It was definitely one of the best shows I’ve been to in a long time: I found myself dancing around the house and singing Cameo Lover long after the show had finished!

When I looked up the show beforehand, one of the few comments on the event page was from someone who recommended buying Kimbra’s album instead of a ticket to her live show because “she’s not a good entertainer.” I have no idea who they had seen before, because she danced around the stage, wore a crazy alien bubble dress (which I assume is by the amazing Perth based designer Jaime Lee Major…? *update – the dress is by Romance was Born, the awesome shaggy cape is by Jaime!) and showed she is an artist with real vocal ability!

More fun than I have had in a long time, and an artist that I would recommend seeing to anyone.

LATEST OP SHOPPING FIND…

I love that feeling when you are scouring the racks of a thrift store or vintage boutique and you come across exactly what you were hoping to find in exactly your size – It is like the Universe giving you a little gift! That is how I felt when I found these boots at Salvos in Freo… my winter wardrobe is pretty much complete and I have spent practically nothing! Ahhh the beauty of op shopping!

THRIFTED HEELS

One of the best things about going to Uni in Freo is the thrift stores right down the road from my lecture… Last week I popped into Retro Vinnies on High Street and picked up these zip-up heels in the style of Alexander Wang’s fall collection. I’m in love, and for only $25 how can you go wrong? Thriftiness gets me hot.

TRANSPARENT ACCESSORIES

I’m really loving the transparent accessory trend. When I was in NY, one of the other bloggers Jessica Mercedes had a transparent Prada handbag that I absolutely fell in love with it. So much so, that I made her pose for me in the first photo! Last time Dempsey was in Perth, we started a few transparent projects… hopefully next time she’s  here, we’ll finish them and have some sweet new see through accessories!

PROOF READ THAT BITCH

I know this runway show occurred almost two months ago… but I just had to post it! Rick Owens’ use of fire as a backdrop is seemingly so simple, yet one of the most effective visual techniques I have ever seen on a runway. The mask head pieces worn by each of the models are pretty awesome as well. I’m loving the tailored structure and androgyny of the whole collection – two elements of design which are not often used simultaneously…

ZIMMERMANN BY YIMMY YAYO

I have officially come down with MBFWA fever… Here are some awesome atmospheric backstage photos of the Zimmermann show, taken by Yimmy Yayo for Oyster. You can see all the photos from the show here.
